Where Caribbean Ease Meets Timeless Luxury
I recently had the chance to spend a few days at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, and wow—it really is something special! Set along the pristine stretch of Seven Mile Beach, the resort blends polished luxury with an effortless Caribbean ease. From the moment I arrived, there was a sense of calm from the warm welcomes to ocean breezes and that unmistakable turquoise water just steps away.
What makes this property stand out is the service and its thoughtful scale and layout. The people who work there are warm, genuine, and anticipatory without ever feeling intrusive. From housekeeping to restaurant staff to concierge, every interaction felt personal and professional. And even at full capacity, the resort never felt crowded. Open-air walkways, lush tropical landscaping, and sweeping ocean views create a setting that felt both expansive and intimate.
Rooms: Coastal Comfort with a View
I stayed in one of the oceanfront rooms, and I have to say, it doesn’t get much better! Bright, airy, and decorated in soft blues and creams, the room immediately felt like a refined beach residence. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors open to a private balcony overlooking Seven Mile Beach, perfect for morning coffee or sunset unwinding.
Large marble bathrooms with deep soaking tubs, plush robes, and Diptyque bath amenities elevated the experience, while thoughtful touches like nightly turndown service and in-room espresso made it feel indulgent but never overdone.
Other options on the property include:
Residential-style suites – Ideal for families or multi-generational travel, with separate living areas and generous square footage.
Penthouse suites – We got a tour and were blown away! Talk about ultimate luxury, true privacy, and expansive terraces with incredible views of the Caribbean Sea.
Ocean-view and garden-view rooms – Elegant, comfortable, and filled with natural light.
No matter where you stay, the feeling is that of a private Caribbean retreat with the legendary Ritz-Carlton service layered seamlessly throughout.
Dining: Elevated, Varied, and Memorable
One of my favorite parts of the trip was exploring the resort’s impressive culinary scene. With multiple restaurants on property, you could easily spend several nights here without repeating a dining experience.
Here’s what I enjoyed:
Saint June – Beachfront, breezy, and effortlessly chic. Bright coastal flavors, creative cocktails, and that unbeatable toes-in-the-sand setting. Lunch here felt like the epitome of island living.
Silver Palm Lounge – Refined but lively. By evening, the space transforms with live music, rare rums, and an impressive cigar selection. It’s the kind of place where you linger longer than planned.
Seven – The signature steakhouse offering prime cuts, fresh seafood, and an extensive wine list. The dining room overlooks the water, and the ambiance feels timeless and polished.
Taikun – An intimate sushi and Japanese concept with beautifully presented dishes and bold flavors. Elevated, yet relaxed.
Andiamo Circolo Sportivo – A lively Italian spot with housemade pastas, seasonal ingredients, and a warm, convivial energy that makes it ideal for families and groups.
And while I didn’t dine at Blue by Eric Ripert this visit, it’s one of the Caribbean’s most celebrated fine-dining experiences focused on refined seafood and impeccable technique. It’s firmly at the top of my list for next time.
Beach, Pools & Family-Friendly Touches
Seven Mile Beach is truly as beautiful as everyone says with its powder-soft sand and calm, clear water in every shade of blue. The beach team is attentive, offering chilled towels, water service, and seamless setup of loungers and umbrellas.
The resort features multiple pools, including a dedicated adults-only pool for quiet relaxation and a vibrant family pool complete with a waterslide. There’s also an exceptional kids club program, making this a great option for families.
Spa & Wellness
The spa is a destination in itself. With serene treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge, steam rooms, and hydrotherapy experiences, it offers a true reset. My treatment completely melted away stress, and the therapists were exceptionally skilled, intuitive, and unhurried.
For guests who like to stay active, the resort also offers tennis courts, a basketball court, fitness classes, water sports, and access to nearby golf—making it just as appealing for active travelers as it is for those seeking full relaxation.
Final Thoughts
The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman strikes the perfect balance between elevated luxury and laid-back island living. Beautiful accommodations, standout dining, a serene spa, world-class beach, and impeccable service—it’s the kind of place that feels special without trying too hard.
Whether you’re planning a romantic escape, a family getaway, or even a corporate incentive trip, this property delivers an experience that lingers long after you return home. I left already thinking about when I can go back.
