An on-going list of what we've heard is under renovation around the world.

A-E

Hotel: Belmond Villa San Michele

Dates: Now to Spring 2026

Details: full restoration of rooms/suites and gardens

Impact: closed for 2025 season. They will reopen in Spring 2026

Hotel: Conrad Bora Bora

Dates: Through June 2026

Renovation details: Fairly extensive “multi-level intermittent construction” - At present: tennis courts shutdown indefinitely, Spa renovation with temporary move to a garden villa, Chinese restaurant is closed for next few months. More renovations will come in further phases

Guest impact: High, but note that reports of noise haven’t been bad. More just that there are lots of workmen/things happening/stuff closed you’d want access to.

Hotel: Four Seasons Lanai

Dates: January 2025 - August 2025

Renovation details: Renovating entrance (porte co·chère) and Osteria Mozza restaurant

Guest impact: Overall has been fairly minimal in my experience. I’ve had tons of clients there since renovations started and have had no complaints. They are offering free daily activities and a pop up restaurant in place of the main restaurant. The bulk of the intrusive / loud construction already happened at the beginning of the renovation so it’s less now.

Hotel: Four Seasons Florence

Dates: Ongoing

Renovation details: They are expanding to a new wing of the building they are in. This new area is being done a few rooms at a time to keep the interference as low as possible. The new rooms are far away from the lobby/main area/garden. They are keeping guests shielded. All external scaffolding, etc has been taken down already and everything happening is internal to the few rooms they are working on at a time.

Guest impact: Minimal

Hotel: Four Seasons Jumeirah

Dates: Now

Details: They are mocking up several rooms for refurb. Upon final design it will roll out hotelwide.

Impact: now, none really, but when they scale out it will.

Hotel: Hotel de Russie

Dates: Through May/June 

Renovation details: Renovating the spa. No temporary spa in place and it is possible for guests to hear / see some construction  

Guest impact: Medium

Hotel: Mauna Kea

Dates: Ongoing

Mauna Kea is going through a major renovation

Hotel: Mahali Mzuri

Dates: now until mid June 2025

Renovation details: renovating rooms, pools and common areas

Guest impact: closed, so big. This is a major renovation that will update the vibe of the resort…looks to be more in tune to the region. Prices to increase.

Hotel: Montage Laguna beach

Dates: June 2025

Renovation details: Main pool

Guest impact: Medium/high - IMO this is not a hotel where you don’t want a functional pool. 

Miraval AZ

Hotel: Ponte Vedra Inn & Club

Dates: Through Early 2027

Renovation Details: Complete overhaul of surf club, pools, and tennis facilities. Hefty construction activity will be ongoing along the main strip of beach. Temporary tennis facilities have been constructed 10 minutes away from the resort, and a temporary Surf Club & Gym is in existing hotel buildings. Main inn & golf facilities remain relatively non impacted.

Guest Impact: Medium to High depending on guest priorities. Medium impact for a golf focused getaway, high for a beach/pool trip. Would recommend The Lodge & Club or Ritz Amelia Island as backups for beach focused travelers.
